Day 1: Bagdogra Arrival
On the first day of your tour, our ground team will meet you at the airport and drive you to Phuentsholing. On arriving at this border town, we visit the immigration office and get all the necessary permits. We use the rest of the day for acclimatisation and sightseeing as we explore the Phuentsholing market or visit the famous Phuentsholing temple.
Day 2: Phuentsholing - Thimpu
After a sound sleep and a hearty breakfast, we kickstart our expedition as we ride to the capital city of Bhutan - Thimphu. Brilliantly laid out tarmac with sweeping corners makes your first day of riding a perfect warmup! We visit the magnificent fortress of Taschhio Dzong and spend the evening exploring the vibrant nightlife of Thimpu.
Day 3: Thimpu Local
An easy day today as we putter around the beautiful city of Thimpu. We visit the many local attractions of Thimpu, like the towering spectacle of Buddha Dordenma statue and the famous experiential museum - 'Simply Bhutan'.
Day 4: Thimpu - Phobjika
We get back on our machines and sashay to the valley of Phobjika. This lesser-explored valley of Bhutan is a haven for migratory birds like the Black-necked crane. On our way to this stunning U-shaped valley, we cross the mighty mountain pass of Dochu La. The view of the snow-clad eastern Himalayas from Dochu La is absolutely surreal! One can catch a glimpse of Bhutan's highest peak - Mt. Masanggang, and spend some time at Druk Wangyal Lhakhang and the famous 108 stupas.
Day 5: Phobjika - Punakha
On this day, we cross the Dochu La again and take a small ride atop some narrow mountain roads to reach Punakha. Punakha is famous for its magnificent Dzong (erstwhile fortifications now predominantly used for religious and administrative purposes). We also visit the fertility village of Bhutan - Chime Lhakhang and ride across umpteen suspension bridges.
Day 6: Punakha - Paro
We continue our expedition to visit the valley town of Paro, which is home to the country's only international airport. After spending time exploring the Paro dzong, we ride further to Chelela pass - the highest motorable road in Bhutan.
Day 7: Tiger's Nest Exploration
Less of riding and more of a trekking day as we climb the intimidating Paro Taktsang, also known as Tiger's nest monastery. This cliffside monastery is one of Bhutan's most iconic places. We take the evening easy as we explore the bustling markets and try out local Bhutanese cuisines.
Day 8: Paro - Phuentsholing
A slightly longish ride on this day takes us back to the border town of Phuentsholing. Bid goodbye to your trusted steeds and spend your evening enjoying your last night in Bhutan.
Day 9: Tour Ends
After a sumptuous breakfast, the team will arrange a drop back to Bagdogra airport in comfortable SUVs. Board the flight back home with tons of happy memories!
