To be announced...
As a father, you're their guide through life's winding roads, showing them what it means to be bold, fearless, and ready for anything. Now, it’s time to take that role off-road.
Join us with the young guns, where you'll teach them how to sleep under the stars, spark a fire, pitch a tent that hopefully stays up, and cook something unforgettable under the open sky.
No phones, no WiFi, no distractions—just you, your kid, your trusty 4x4, and some good old-fashioned dirt. Show them how to hold a line, read the terrain, and spot obstacles. Out here, they’re not just tagging along—they’re your co-pilots. It’s about trust, teamwork, and figuring things out together. And before you know it, you’ll be preparing them for life’s
tougher trails—where there’s no GPS, no shortcuts, just instinct and grit.

1/1
-
Is it safe—for women, kids, and in general?Yes. Our crew is on-site at all times. Families are welcome—just be sure kids are comfortable being outdoors.
-
What happens in an emergency?Safety is a priority. We carry a first aid kit, and we are close enough to reach the nearest hospital quickly if needed.
-
Can I bring passengers in my 4x4?Yes, as long as they’re ready for a bumpy ride. It’s more fun to share the adventure, and you’ll all get to enjoy the trails together.
-
How tough are the trails? How do I know my vehicle is fit enough? The trails test you—expect climbs, mud, rocks, and water crossings. A stock 4x4 is enough, but don’t be surprised by a few scratches. Our marshals will guide you through every tricky spot, with recovery support if needed.
-
What’s the weather like?Unpredictable. You could get sun, rain, and mud all in the same day. Come ready with a raincoat and an open mind—it’s all part of the adventure.
-
What’s the sleeping setup like? When you reach camp, you’ll pitch your own tent—don’t worry, our crew will be right there to guide you. It’s simple, and a fun part of settling in. Tents are two- or four-sharing, with mats already provided. Nights can get cool, but once you’re tucked in, it’s a comfortable space to rest.
-
Is there electricity and mobile network?Yes, there are power outlets for charging essentials. Mobile network is patchy—Jio and Airtel may catch a signal here and there, but don’t expect steady data.
-
What about trash? We follow a strict no-trash policy. We will provide trash bags to everyone. You can collect all the waste and carry it back to the city and dump it in the dumpster. It’s simple: leave the campsite as clean—or cleaner—than you found it.
-
Can I bring alcohol?Alcohol is fine, as long as it’s responsible.
-
What should I pack?Pack light and practical: outdoor clothes, sturdy shoes, toiletries, towel, rain gear, warm layers, personal meds, a reusable bottle. We’ll share a detailed checklist so you don’t miss anything.
-
How long are the trail drives each day?Day 1 is mostly scenic B-roads with some easy off-roading—perfect for getting a feel for your 4x4. Day 2 steps it up a bit with more technical estate trails, but don’t worry, our marshals will guide you every step of the way. You’ll get plenty of breaks to enjoy the surroundings and take it all in.
-
Do I need to know how to camp? No. You don’t need any prior camping experience. Our crew will handle the setup and walk you through the basics so you feel at ease.
-
Can I come solo? Can I bring friends?Absolutely. Many people come solo and leave with new friends. If you’re coming with friends, just make sure they’re game for the adventure.
-
What about washrooms and showers?Washrooms are a few mts away from the tents—separate for men and women, with western toilets and running water. Showers are available, with hot water in the mornings. Simple, clean, and all you’ll need.
-
Why is the event non-alcoholic?We want everyone to be fully present in the experience. Keeping the event alcohol-free ensures a family-friendly vibe, helps avoid accidents (especially around fire and tools), and encourages genuine connection through shared stories, games, and laughter, not just a bottle. Trust us, you won’t miss it when the stars and bonfire take over.
-
Would you reschedule the event due to rains? We've got tarps and alternate shelter plans. The show must go on. Just with raincoats and extra tea!
-
Are there hygienic washrooms and hot water?Yes, we have clean and basic washroom facilities at the campsite, maintained regularly by our team. However, there’s no hot water; it’s all part of the raw, outdoorsy experience! We recommend carrying quick-dry towels and being prepared for a refreshing splash.
-
Is there mobile network at the campsite? Not consistently. We suggest using this opportunity to unplug. Emergency connectivity is available via crew devices.
-
Who is this event for?Anyone who loves a little adventure! Whether you’re a seasoned camper or a total beginner, this weekend is for anyone ready to pitch tents, cook over fire, and laugh a lot.
-
Can I come alone?Absolutely. Many campers do! It’s a great place to meet like-minded adventurers.
-
How do I reach the campsite from Bengaluru? You’ve got a few options! You can take your own vehicle or hop on a KSRTC local bus—they run frequently between Bengaluru and Tumkur. From Tumkur University stop, we can help arrange an auto to the campsite. Once the participant group is formed, we’ll also help coordinate carpooling. If the group agrees, we can even organize a shared cab or tempo traveller from the city to make the ride easy and fun.
-
Do I need prior camping experience? Not at all! This is a beginner-friendly event. The crew will guide you through everything, from setting up your tent to getting your cookout started.
-
What’s the weather like?Expect pleasant days and chilly nights. We’ll send an update closer to the event so you can pack accordingly.
-
Why is the cookout all-vegetarian?To keep things safe, simple, and inclusive. Since our campsite is near forested areas, avoiding meat helps reduce the chances of attracting wildlife. Veg meals are also quicker to prepare, which suits the hands-on, time-sensitive nature of the event. Plus, all cooking gear is shared among participants, and a vegetarian setup ensures hygiene and comfort for everyone, regardless of dietary preferences. And yes, despite being meat-free, the menu is packed with flavour, fun, and fire-cooked goodness!
-
What’s the best season to visit?Honestly? Any. We’re done calling Coorg the “Scotland of India.” Why compare when it’s already got its own wild, year-round vibe? Summers? It gets warm to hot, but perfect for stream dips, iced coffee, naps under a breezy kadumara (evergreen tree), seasonal fruit juices and chasing waterfalls. Winters? Crowded, chilly, full of fireside stories and buzzing dorm energy. Monsoons? That’s when Malnad magic hits max volume. Lush, misty, and wet enough to turn leeches into your clingiest travel companions. Whether you're into sunshine, fog, or just finding yourself in the rain, we’re open 365 days. Pick your season, bring your vibe, and we’ll take care of the rest.
-
Is food available at the hostel?Oh absolutely. Our café serves up comfort on a plate, delicious local and continental meals to keep you fuelled for adventures or lazy workdays. Vegan or Jain meals? We try our best on weekdays, but not always possible over weekends. It’s chef-dependent, so give us a heads-up and we’ll see what we can do.
-
Is parking available?Yes, we’ve got limited free parking inside the property. If you’re riding in with a beast of a vehicle, just give us a heads-up so we can make space for it.
-
How do I get here?beNomadic Hostels sits just outside Suntikoppa, Coorg—about 30 minutes from Kushalnagar and an hour from Madikeri. Road-tripping in? The drive from Bangalore (250 km), Mysore (100 km), or Mangalore (150 km) is buttery smooth, especially via the Bengaluru–Mysore Expressway. Prefer to kick back and ride? Outstation cabs through Ola, BlaBlaCar, or local operators get the job done. On a budget? KSRTC Airavat, Rajahamsa, EV Powerplus, or any trusty sleeper bus will drop you at Kushalnagar, Suntikoppa, or Madikeri—autos and taxis are easy to find from there. Mysore’s the closest big rail stop, and nearby airports include Kannur, Mangalore, and Bangalore. However you roll, ping us—we’ll help you figure it out.
-
Do you allow group bookings?Totally. We love hosting travel groups, workation crews, and full-blown retreats. Just give us a call in advance so we can block the vibe (and the beds) for you. Custom plans, bonfires, maybe even a local feast, we’re game if you are.
-
Do you have long-term staycation discounts? We’re all about slow travel and longer stays. If you’re planning to stick around for a while, hit us up directly, we’ll sort out a pocket-friendly deal that works for both of us. Good vibes cost less when you stay longer.
-
What’s your cancellation policy?Life happens, we get it. 20% of your booking amount is non-refundable, no matter when you cancel. The rest? It’s refundable as per the timeline we shared in your booking confirmation. Hit us up if you need to cancel, we’ll walk you through the math, no drama.
-
What are your check-in and check-out timings?Check-in is from 1 PM. Check-out is by 11 AM. Wondering if you can show up early or sleep in late? It depends. Early check-in or late check-out is totally based on availability and at the discretion of our Property Manager. Might come with a small fee. Just ask, and we’ll do our best to work it out.
-
Are pets allowed?Yes, but only if they’re rolling VIP style. Pets are welcome only in our private room, which you can book through Airbnb. Dorms are a no-go for your furry friends. Some backpackers like pets, some are pets after three treks and no showers, so we keep it balanced. Want to bring your good boy or girl? Book the private stay, and we’ll roll out the pawsome welcome.
-
Do you have Wi-Fi?It’s 2025 for us too, and yes, we’ve got high-speed Wi-Fi across the property. Great for remote work, streaming, or pretending to work while planning your next adventure. But real talk - beNomadic is located near an Elephant Reserve Forest, and during heavy monsoons, things can get a little Malnad messy. Towers might wobble, signals may fade, and you may need to swap your Google Meet for a Coffee Break. Power backups are always on, though, so you won’t be left in the dark, just possibly offline for a bit.
-
What can I do around the hostel?Ask our Community Manager at the hostel. They're not just staff, they're your in-house storyteller, local plug, chaos controller, and trail whisperer rolled into one. Whether it's last-minute roadblocks, surprise jam sessions, or elephant updates from the forest next door, they've got the scoop no blog, map, or reel ever will. Check in, check with them, and get ready for plans you didn’t even know you needed.
-
Can I bring my pets or kids?Yes, both pets and kids are welcome! Our campsite is family-friendly and designed to create unforgettable experiences for adventurers of all ages.
-
Is there internet connectivity at the campsite? The location of the campsite is quite remote. Mobile phone coverage is not great. We have gone out of way and purposefully kept the campsite off-the-grid! Over the years we have noticed that people are more fun and interesting without their phones! We do have reliable modes of communication in case of emergencies and can also arrange for a stable internet connection if your work needs you to be wired in during weekdays.
-
What kind of experience can I expect? An immersive connection with nature—raw, rugged, and real. Ideal for small groups who want to embrace the untamed outdoors and reconnect with the wilderness.
-
Do vehicles need to be modified for off-road driving? While modifications can enhance performance, they're not mandatory. Our guides will provide guidance.
-
Will guides provide vehicle-specific guidance?Yes, our experienced guides will offer tips and guidance on off-road driving techniques.
-
What type of vehicles are suitable for the trip?Since we will be taking the participants on an off-road trail, we recommend 4x4 vehicles for this event.
-
What vehicle checks should we perform before the trip?Ensure your vehicle is in good condition, with proper tire pressure, oil, and brakes.
-
Can we get vehicle maintenance support during the trip?Basic maintenance support like fixing a flat and minor issues will be available.
-
I have a 4x4 vehicle, but haven’t done much of off-roading, can I still join? This event is beginner friendly. So drivers with little to no prior off-road experience can also join us.
-
Can we get assistance with navigation and route-finding?Our guides will lead the way and provide navigation support.
-
Is camping safe? I’ve never camped before.Absolutely! You don’t need to be Bear Grylls to survive this weekend. Our crew of seasoned adventurers will make sure the only thing going off the rails is the fun. Whether you’ve never pitched a tent or can’t tell a firestarter from a marshmallow stick, we’ve got you covered. If your kid loves climbing furniture, chasing bugs, or asking way too many questions, they’ll fit right in. This weekend is designed for ages 5+, but if your little one is younger and already has the spirit of an explorer, bring them along! And yes, we have washrooms. No, they’re not hotel bathrooms, but they’re clean and functional.
-
What if my kid is a picky eater? You’re cooking your own food—so you decide what goes on the grill! We provide ingredients, but if your kid insists on Nutella sandwiches, feel free to pack extras.
-
Why the big push for the outdoors?Because fresh air beats screen time, and let’s be real—kids today think "exploring" means zooming in on Google Earth. Back when we were their age, we disappeared for hours, came home covered in dirt, and nobody freaked out. Now? They get GPS-tracked on the way to the fridge. Time to change that. Get ‘em outside, let ‘em climb, scrape a knee, and learn the kind of stuff they won’t find in a tutorial.
-
Can I bring more than one child? What if I’m coming solo with my kid(s)?Absolutely! Just be ready for double the excitement, double the energy, and possibly double the “I’m not tired” at bedtime. Coming solo with the kids? No worries—we’ve got a friendly crew and a solid camp community. There’ll always be an extra set of hands to help, whether it’s setting up a tent or keeping an eye on your little explorers while you take a breather.
